There are over 200 orphaned children who have to fend for themselves and have to live under the most appalling conditions thinkable. The elder children either have to stay at home to look after younger siblings, when they should be at school, or lock the younger children up during school time. Some of the children are just to tired to attend school, having to stay awake at night to keep watch over siblings, because their dwellings have open windows and doors cannot lock.
The younger children, who should be attending the Ndlovu Pre-school Programs cannot do so, because there is an R80 per month per child fee, an impossible amount to pay when there is not even food to eat.
