#Nothing about us without us – love us, this was the theme of the NCG Fun walk organized in support of the people living with disability. The event was well attended by the NCG staff and children from the Joris House and Tswelopele Disability Centres. The main purpose of the day was to raise awareness about the difficulties that those living with any form of disability have to endure on their day to day lives. There activities organized for those that need to experience disability by doing the fun walk in a wheel chair or walk with both eyes blind folded and some even had their mouths tapes to prevent any form of talking. The children were very happy to walk around from Ndlovu Miracle Theater via Moutse mall and back to the Miracle Theater.
Ndlovu youth choir entertained the children by performing songs about Nelson Mandela and children were educated about the Mandela’s live and why he had to spend 27 years in prison. Ndlovu staff prepared meals for the disability centres and children were treated with hot meaty soap and bread. Nelson Mandela cared for the children with all his heart, he loved them and he would even play with them whenever he can, he taught us humanity and humility. In the same spirit of Nelson Mandela, the highlight of the day was the handover of the new wheel chair to one of our beneficiaries at the Tswelopele disability centre by the name of *Tommy. For the first time *Tommy will be able to sit upright and move around using his new wheel chair. The wheel chair was made possible by the hard work of Ndlovu life skills facilitators after they embarked on a fund raising mission few months ago, they are determine to continue working hard so that more and more disabled children can receive new wheelchairs that would allow them free movement.
Ndlovu would like thank all those who made this day successful including our sponsors that donated water bottles and meals
